HELMETS are mandatory, a free helmet is offered with every hire bike, if you have your own, and so long as it exceeds the required British Standard, you are welcome to use that. You must always wear either your own or hired helmet whilst riding a hire bike.

It’s safe but fun, nothing dangerous bar a few little rock features. The riding is relatively easy, go and enjoy . . . If those are the more difficult sections, I can’t imagine him having a problem. Cheers for that, I’ll drag him around all of it.

Cannock Chase Forest is a very dog friendly day out. Dogs are welcome everywhere except for the food service area of the Birches Valley cafe and in the children’s playground by the car park. Outside the cafe, there’s a dog bowl at every table. Around the back of the building is a tap to fill them up from.
