How to draw Dragons for beginners?

The first thing we need to outline the skeleton of the dragon. It’s easy enough to do,because we will use very simple lines.

  • The dragon’s skeleton is done, and now we will add some volume.
  • We continue to add details and volume to our flying dragon. With the help of very simple geometric shapes,we will sketch the outlines of arms and legs.
  • As we have said, starting from this step we will work with the final details.
  • Continuing the lines with which we drew the head,we carefully draw out the outlines of the neck, which smoothly passes into the upper part of the body.
  • Now,continuing the lines of the upper body,we gently draw out the lower part of the body and legs with long and sharp claws.
  • In this step,we essentially finish drawing the body of our flying dragon.
  • You can leave your dragon drawing either as in the previous step,or add some shadows.

Draw a circle with a curved jaw for your dragon’s head.

  • Make 2 more circles of the same size below and to the right of the head.
  • Sketch a curved tube to connect the head with the other circles.
  • Put a curved tube ending in a point coming off of the far right circle for the tail.
  • Add legs to the bottoms of the curves on the body.
  • How to draw a dragon step by step?

Sketch the basic shapes. A blank page is daunting,so we first want to get an idea of how big our dragon will be.

  • Connect your preliminary shapes. Next,we’re going to connect the basic shapes and lines we laid out until we have a satisfactory outline of the dragon’s form.
  • Refine the outline. With the basics in place, you’ll want to slowly add and edit as you see fit.
  • Pay attention to the details. Now that you’ve done the grunt work,it’s time for some fun!
  • Go over the drawing in ink and/or add color. If you decide to finish your drawing in pen,you have the option to commit to a full-scale look.

  • Draw the right horn and then draw the small round eye and color in the pupil.
