All Samsung-made SmartThings hubs from 2013 and the SmartThings Link for Nvidia Shield will stop working. After June 30th, you’ll be able to see connected Wi-Fi and cloud-connected devices in the SmartThings app, but that’s it. All automation for Z-Wave, ZigBee, and LAN devices will stop working.
Is SmartThings discontinued?
If you have a SmartThings V1 Hub then, as of 30 June it will no longer work. V2 and V3 SmartThings Hubs will continue to work for now, so there’s less pressure on upgrading. However, for maximum confidence and long-term support, existing V2 and V3 hub owners may be tempted to upgrade to Aeotec Smart Home Hub.

SmartThings isn’t being discontinued. Currently, Samsung is making it into a more powerful and “universal” platform. Instead of developing products of their own, Samsung SmartThing decided to ditch their legacy products and apps to focus on improving the features and security of their platform.

Without the ADT SmartThings Security Hub, the SmartThings app will still let you automate and control Wi-Fi or cloud-connected devices you may have set up in your home. However, you will no longer be able to use the SmartThings app to control any Zigbee, Z-Wave, or LAN devices you may have connected to your home security system.
How do I Return my ADT SmartThings home security starter kit?
You will need to provide the serial number of your Hub, a proof of purchase for your ADT SmartThings Home Security Starter Kit, and a list of your ADT connected sensors. You must return your devices to Samsung using the provided UPS shipping label in order to receive your refund.
