Due to risk of invasive mussel infestation, personal boating and other watercrafts are not allowed at Almaden Lake Park. The water feature is currently turned off due to the drought until further notice.

Alum Rock park is my least favorite park in all of San Jose. Yes, they have some great trails and historical sites. But, they do not consider all of the members of our families!! They do not allow dogs (on leash or off) anywhere in the park.
What happened to Alum Rock Park?
In response, San Jose decided to return Alum Rock back to its more natural state. The city demolished the pool, removed many of the buildings, and closed some areas of the park. As a result, natural habitats in the park have flourished with the return of many species of birds, insects, and other wildlife.
