What do you write in a UC personal statement?
They want to see:
- That you have actually created something in your life or academic career.
- That you consider this an important quality within yourself, and that you have cultivated your skills.
- That you can see and have considered the impact of what you’ve done on yourself or on the world around you.
What is a personal insight?
The personal insight questions are about getting to know you better — your life experience, interests, ambitions and inspirations. Think of it as your interview with the Admissions office. Be open. Be reflective. Find your individual voice and express it.

Which UC’s are the hardest to get into?

Can I see my old UC application?
Do UC admissions have access to your previous applications including your old personal statement? A: Yes, the UCs do have access to the entire previous application/s and they will definitely look, mainly to check for discrepancies (date changes, Extra-Curricular switches, etc).
What are UCS looking for?
all UC schools look for similar qualities in students. You’ll need to complete the A-G courses, take difficult classes, have good grades, participate in extracurriculars, and have strong personal statements.
