Can you walk dogs off lead in New Forest?
Dog-walking guidelines Livestock roam freely in the New Forest. When they are present please keep dogs on a short lead, give them a wide berth, do not get inbetween a cow + calf, and if they approach let your dog off the lead.
Are dogs allowed at New Forest Wildlife Park?
Regrettably we do not allow dogs in the New Forest Wildlife Park as we have free ranging animals with in the park (deer and wallabies).

Our dog-friendly lodges are deep-cleaned before and after your stay to ensure you have a clean and homely welcome. Dog-friendly lodges are available at a selected number of Woodland Lodges and Executive Lodges only, and you can add up to two dogs per lodge so they can enjoy your holiday as much as you will.

Can you take dogs to Haven sites?
Bark Yards at Haven parks At Golden Sands and Hafan y Mor your dog doesn’t even need to leave the park to be entertained. Both sites have bespoke Bark Yard obstacle courses to occupy your pooch. They’re also surrounded by pooch-perfect places to visit, meaning your companion can always come along for the ride.
Do you have to pick up dog poop in the New Forest?
The neospora parasite can survive in the soil for weeks. It can make cows much more likely to abort and affect future pregnancies. The New Forest Dog Walking Code, which is promoted by the national park and backed by local groups, urges owners to “pick up after your dog” and put bagged waste in the bin.
Where can my dog swim in the New Forest?
Hatchet Pond
Start from Hatchet Pond, walk along Furzey Lane and into the woods toward Brockenhurst. The heath here is beautiful. Dogs are welcome to swim in Hatchet Pond. Parking is good.

Just a 10 minute drive from Lymington is Milford-on-Sea, a traditional seaside village with colourful beach huts along a shingle beach where dogs are welcome year round, plus there are plenty of places to shop and eat for humans.
