The waist of raw, unsanforized jeans should be purchased true to size. Regardless of if it is hot soaked, cold soaked, or machine washed, the denim will stretch back to their raw measurements with wear.

The first (and some say best) method is to wear your jeans into a bath or a shower. This will allow the denim to shrink ever-so-slightly into the contours of your body. Once completely soaked, you can them hang them to dry, or if it is sunny outside, you can keep them on and go lie in the sun.

All of our jeans feature SANFORIZED denim. You can expect up to 1″ of initial stretch in the waist after 2 weeks of initial wear. Upon your first wash, the jeans will shrink up to 0.5″ in the waist and 0.5″ in length as long as they are washed in cold water and hung up to dry (our recommended method of laundering).

Size Matters Remember the denim will stretch about 3-5% or an inch to an inch and a half (if you haven’t chosen a pre-shrunk version). You should be able to get into the jeans without too much of a fight and they should feel tighter on your waist than you’re comfortable with (beauty is pain, my man).
